About Kellie Shirley
Kellie Shirley (born 11 July 1983) is a British actress most commonly known as Carly Wicks in the popular BBC soap opera EastEnders from 2006-08. She left EastEnders with co-star Matt Di Angelo in early 2008 following the death of character Kevin Wicks (Phil Daniels) who played her on-screen father. She returned to the soap in September 2012 for a short dramatic storyline.
Kellie's other credits include playing the female lead opposite John Hannah in 'Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde' (Working Title), The Office Christmas specials and Twenty Thousand Streets Under the Sky. She has also worked in theatre at the Royal National Theatre and Royal Court. Kellie was trained at The BRIT School for Performing Arts in Selhurst, after which she won a scholarship to the Webber Douglas Academy.[citation needed] She starts rehearsals for Royal National Theatre smash hit show One Man, Two Guvnors in October opposite comedian Rufus Hound where she will be playing 'Pauline'.
She has also several times on appeared on the Sky Sports programme Soccer AM and Talk Sport describing herself as a "massive Crystal Palace fan".[citation needed] Her last appearance in EastEnders was in 2012 after appearing in 220 episodes.
In June 2009, she co-hosted the BBC Two show Something for the Weekend with Tim Lovejoy, standing in for Amanda Hamilton who was on maternity leave. She featured in the Pencil Full of Lead video by Scottish singer Paolo Nutini.
Kellie plays the female lead in British Feature film G.B.H. for Revolver as 'Louise' released in cinemas October 2012. The Cast includes Steven Berkoff and Lorraine Standly. Run For Your Wife will be released nationwide in Feb 2013 cast includes Judi Dench to Danny Dyer. Kellie plays Suise Browning. In film Girl on a Bicycle plays 'Marta' opposite Paddy Considine which is directed by Jeremy Leven for Wiedemann & Berg/Warner Bros who also produced Oscar winning picture The Lives of Others. She plays the central role role of 'Lydia' in 6 part series 'Self Centered' for Pollibee pictures.
