About Jack Laskey
Jack Laskey (born 1982) in Ipswich, Suffolk, is an English actor. He is the third son of Michael Laskey, a poet. Laskey trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA).[citation needed] In 2007 Laskey worked with Punchdrunk theatre company, creating the role of Roderick Usher in their site specific, promenade production The Masque of the Red Death – an adaptation of various Edgar Allan Poe short stories at London's Battersea Arts Centre. Laskey is also a founder member of The Factory theatre company.[citation needed] In 2008 he made his Royal Shakespeare Company debut, playing Bassanio in The Merchant of Venice, Biondello in The Taming of the Shrew and Robert Hooke in The Tragedy of Thomas Hobbes. At Shakespeare's Globe Laskey played Bernard of Clairvaux in Howard Brenton's critically acclaimed In Extremis and Octavius Caesar in Antony and Cleopatra. He also played Orlando in the acclaimed 2009 Globe production of As You Like It. Other theatre credits include Biloxi Blues, Hamlet in Hamlet, Romeo in Romeo and Juliet and Juliet in an all male production of Romeo and Juliet. Laskey received widespread acclaim for his recurring TV role as DS Peter Jakes in the ITV series Endeavour. He made his film debut in 2011, starring as Carruthers in Guy Ritchie's Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows. Laskey will star in Peter Fudakowski's 2014 adaption of Joseph Conrad's short story The Secret Sharer.
