Open letter from Graham Thompson to Steven Spielberg
“My story about Noah's Ark”
16 December 2023,
Hello Steven Spielberg,
My name is Graham Thompson and about ten years ago I wrote a story about Noah's Ark, shortly after writing it the film with Russel crow came out, and I must admit it was a big disappointment. For a subject such as the ark there has never been a dissent film made about it. My story is a short novella of about 18,000 words, my protagonist is a young man by the name of Nathanial, who is orphaned at a young age, and is brought up in Turkey close to mount Ararat.
His father was a university professor, and a keen archaeologist, who was obsessed with the ark. It was whilst he was searching for this elusive structure that a simple stumble on the rocks led to his untimely death. With Nathanial's mother being killed only twelve months earlier in England, also caused by a tragic accident, leaves him in the hands of his fathers best friend in Turkey. It is only years later that Nathanial's now adopted father sends him back to England to study at Cambridge, where his father once worked as a professor, which ultimately puts Nathanial on the same path his father once walked, searching for the most famous relic in the world. What he finds answers the very question mankind has been asking for millennia, who are we, and what are we doing here. I would love the opportunity to send you this story, and hopefully see it made into a film, the like only you could make. The name of my story is. Message from the Ark
Kind regards
Graham Thompson
